25 Jan LOVE NYC RESTAURANT WEEK
The first stop for Restaurant Week was the lovely & elegant Chinatown Brasserie.
As you walk in, all the oriental Chinese decor takes you aback. This restaurant is truly impressive.
Their Restaurant Week menu offers 4 courses: an appetizer, dim sum, an entree & a dessert.
All for $24.07. What a bargain! The selection of dishes caters to every type of eater:
strict vegetarians to the meat lovers.
We had St Louis cut ribs, fresh corn & egg soup with lobster & cold green noodles
with peanut sauce for appetizers. These were very delectable and helped to wet our appetites
for more. For the dim sum part of the meal, we chose from an assortment of fried & steamed dumplings, potstickers and spring rolls containing shrimp, spinach, crab, chicken, lamb and duck with a variety of sauces. HEAVENLY!
For our entree we had Szechuan chicken with chestnuts and curry shrimp with lemongrass & mixed vegetables. These were scrumptious. Finally, we had our delicious desserts: fresh fruit, custard bao
(a type of sweet bun) & triple chocolate mousse cake.
At the end of our meal, we were VERY pleased & promised ourselves to return.
Chinatown Brasserie serves 5 star food & their service is friendly and prompt.
It was truly an enjoyable experience! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
